Model 3.2 Single Ended 300B Amplifier
Tube Rectified Dual Mono Power Supply

While audiophiles and audio equipment designers can be divided into many cult; believer of different circuitries design with their distinct merits, they do come to an agreement that a decent power supply is the first step to sonic glory. And that does not even include audiophiles who swear by the overall system improvement their power cable can make.

The "horsepower" of Model 3.2 come from a dual mono power supply, powering each channel of the amp independently. The only thing that they shared is an over-sized Power Transformer. Each channel of the power supply spotted their own tube rectifier, capacitor-choke-capacitor filtering. This approach is something not

found in most stereo amplifier due to very high cost. However, to achieve the mono-bloc amplifier's power supply isolation between the left and the right channel in a single chassis, this is the only route. The Power Transformer uses audio-graded Silicon Steel core.  In order to ensure reliability and highest operating safety, the coil is carefully handwound, using high-grade UK magnetic wires and expensive Nomex insulation. A special feature in our Power Transformer is a noise reduction Electrostatic Shield between the primary and secondary windings. We can ensure you that this Electrostatic Shielding is much more effective than those

expensive out-board Power Supply filtering devices. Sadly most manufacturers, due to the extra cost and complication involved in manufacturing, neglect this little but important detail. One of the merits in using the Western Electric Parallel-Feed output design is that power supply coloration is reduced to the minimum since the signal path does not need to pass through the power supply. While we still insist on using audio-graded filtering capacitors for the least coloration, our emphasis is more on the proven reliability of audio-graded component. As

for the Direct Heated output tube filament supply, we have used a very stiff regulated DC supply. This prevents the tonal variation in the 300B due to variation in the line supply and at the same time, removed the infamous filament induced hum in those Direct Heated tubes. In short, I hope you would agree with us that we have not resort to any cost cutting by compromising on reliability, consistency and sound quality.

Laser-Cut Stainless Chassis

Due to the weight of the massive transformers, around 30kg in our case, a vacuum tube amplifier needs very sturdy Chassis. Studying what other manufacturers’ amplifiers (around the same retail price as Model 3.2), we noticed that they either stick to the low-cost wooden base chassis or resort to OEM purchase. It is rather interesting how easy it is to identify the same amplifier chassis used by so many manufacturers with little, or no cosmetic changes at all. Perhaps they are all from the same factory in the East?

In Model 3.2, the amplifier chassis is made of Brush Stainless Steel and is Laser-Cut for absolute precision. Although we do not claim superior chassis build quality above other manufacturers, we had integrated the chassis as part of the overall amplifier design right from the beginning. This ensure a total system approach where we cleverly combine shortest signal path for minimum signal degradation, logical component layout for the lowest induced-noise and aesthetical look which is unique yet functional.
